IN ORDER TO SUCCESSFULLY prepare for a speech, you must answer at least three major preliminary questions. If you don’t know the answers to these three questions, then you’re at serious risk of not hitting your target—of creating a presentation that lacks the impact and outcome you’re hoping for.
I like to refer to these questions collectively as the APPSM. “A” is for “audience”—as in, “Who is my audience?” The first “P” is for “purpose”—as in, “What is my purpose?” And the last “P” is for “product”—as in, “What is my intended product?”
This course walks you through these first and critical steps for creating a successful speech.
